This is around the time of year when first-year law students have to turn in their Legal Research and Writing memos (and students in general have some sort of paper or writing assignment due). It strikes me as odd that law school is probably the one institution where you pay an arm and leg to learn how to write a memo.
Also, I just realized that whenever Brown Rabbit raises his arms like that, it's usually a good sign that things are about to go downhill.
